NOT for hooking up my dryer

Background: our new home we moved into had a recessed vent for the dryer (the kind with a box that goes into the wall between the studs that allows the machine to be flush against the wall). However, the pipe was oval shaped, not round like our dryer hose, and did not bend. We tried to mold our dryer vent pipe and used several Lowes-recommended bendable extenders but those didn't seem to work and give us enough space to bend our hose down to hook the pipe to our dryer.
I did some googling on DIY sites and it seemed like the few people who had our issue talked about some oval to circle duct adapters. I measured our oval pipe and it was about five inches wide, so I bought this one. However, the 5" refers to the diameter of the circle portion - NOT the diameter of the oval. When you squish a 5" diameter circle into an oval, you add about an inch, so this elbow adapter was WAY too big to use for my dryer. The product itself seems sturdy, and if it were an inch smaller on all sides it would be perfect...hence the four stars; it's a nice product, but as it's not what I'm looking for I will be returning it. I just wanted to warn those of you who may be trying to do what I am that this isn't the product I was looking for!

Not as Pictured

The item is functional, however the Oval transition on this product is not tapered as shown in the picture. This creates a bit of a problem when one is building vent run across joists up a wall then across joists again (because you must connect to this with both ends tapered from the wall run). Again it will work but it will also create more work that could have been avoided by providing the item as picture.
